Sacred to the memory of the Reverend John Whittaker BD for 31 years the pious and

Zealous rector of this parish who died on the 30^th day of October 1808 aged 73 years

Also of Jane his most affectionate widow who died on the 10^th day of April 1828 aged

85 years

Also of Jane Margaret their eldest daughter who died on the 30^th day of December

1798 aged 18 years

Also of Sarah their second daughter who departed this life on the 12^th day of March

1849 aged 66 years

Blessed are the dead which lie in the Lord.

This tablet was erected to their memory by Anna Taunton widow of Richard Taunton

MD of Truro in this County, the affectionate and only remaining daughter of the

Above mentioned John & Jane Whittaker

June 5^th 1850

Anna Taunton died on the 18^th day of January 1865 aged 81 years
