Will of James Allen 7th September 1747

 

In The Name of God Amen I James Allen Mariner late of the parish of Ruan Lanihorne within the County of Cornwall and now belonging to his Majesties Ship Pembroke Being of a Sound and disposeing mind and memory and Considering the Certainty of death and uncertaintyes of this Transitory Life (for avoiding Controversies after my decease) make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following; That is to Say First I recommend my Soul to God that gave it and my Body to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to Order; and as for all my Wordly Estate I Give, bequeath and dispose there of as followeth; That is to Say all my Prize money, Plunder money, Booty money, Bounty money, Pensions, Goods, merchandizes, Demands, Wages, Sum and Sums of Money, lands, tenements, Goods, Chattels and Estate whatsoever asshall be any ways due, owing or Belonging unto me at the time of my decease I Give devise and Bequeath the same unto my Brother Richard Allen of the aforesaid parish of Ruan Lanihorne and I do hereby Nominate and appoint the Said Richard Allen whole and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revokeing all former and other wills Testaments and deeds of Gift by me at any time heretofore made and I do ordain and Rectifye these presents to Stand and be for my only last Will and Testament.  In Witness whereof To this my said Will I have Set my hand and Seal the Seventh day of September and in the 21st year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second over Great Britain France Ireland King defender of the faith and so forth and in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and forty seven.

   The Within written Will of the within named James Allen Mariner deced was proved in Comon form the 15th June 1750. Before the Revd mr William Waddon Clk Master of Arts official etc. and admion of the Goods etc. of the s.d deced and of all things howsoever Concerning his s.d will was Granted to the Executor therein named (Being first Sworn etc. and Oath being first made etc/Saveing etc
