Description and Travel

Wroot is one of the eight original parishes in the Isle of Axholme in the far northwest corner of Lincolnshire.

Wroot is the western-most parish in Lincolnshire, about 5 miles west of Epworth and ten miles north-west of Gainsborough where the three ancient counties of York, Nottingham and Lincolnshire meet. The old bed of the River Torne formed part of the north and western parish boundary. The parish of Haxey lies to the south-east. The parish covers about 3,250 acres of flat moorland.
