- The Anglican parish church is dedicated to Saints Peter and Lawrence.
- The original church is believed to date from around 1100.
- The church was restored in 1878 and the tower was added.
- The church seats 100.

Wickenby is both a village and a parish in the Wolds, 11 miles north-east of the city of Lincoln and 146 miles north of London. Snelland parish lies to the south-west and Fulnetby township in Rand parish to the south. The parish covers just about 2,000 acres and includes the hamlet of Westlaby.

- Richard CROFT has a picture of the former Methodist Chapel at Geo-graph in a photo taken in June, 2006. It is now the Broadbent Theatre.
- The national grid reference is TF 0881.
- You'll want an Ordnance Survey Explorer map, which has 2.5 inches to the mile scale.

- RAF Wickenby started construction as a purpose-built bomber airfield in 1941. The airfield was south-east of the village.
- The airfield opened for flight operations in early 1943.
- Military flights ceased shortly after the war ended and the RAF closed its station there in 1956.

- Starting in 1964, land was cleared and returned to former civilian owners. The site was disposed of by the MOD in the 1960s.
- A flying club now uses a portion of the old airfield, which is now Wickenby Aerodrome.

- This place was an ancient parish in Lincoln county and became a modern Civil Parish when those were established.
- The parish was in the western division of the ancient Wraggoe Wapentake in the West Lindsey district in the parts of Lindsey.
- The 1900 and 1913 editions of Kelly's Directory of Lincolnshire has the parish, perhaps erroneously, as part of the East Lindsey district of the county.
- You can contact the local Parish Council concerning civic or political issues, but they are NOT staffed to assist you with family history searches.
- Today's district governance is provided by the West Lindsey District Council.
- Bastardy cases would be heard in the Wragby petty session hearings on the first Thursday of the month.
- As a result of the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act, the parish became part of the Lincoln Poor Law Union on 16th January 1837.

- A Public Elementary School was built in 1842 and rebuilt in 1879. It could hold 80 children.
