Southorpe

Description and Travel

Southorpe is a parish and hamlet about 150 miles north of London, 7 miles north-east of Gainsborough, 2 miles south-west of Northorpe and 2 miles east of Bylton. Grayingham parish lies to the east and Corringham parish to the south. A small parish in area, it covers only about 467 acres. Southorpe parish was once an extra-parochial portion of Northorpe parish.

The hamlet of Southorpe has virtually disappeared. The only thing at Southorpe now is the boarding kennels which are in the old railway crossing house. If you are planning a visit:
