- The Anglican parish church is dedicated to Saint Edith.
- The church was rebuilt in 1837.
- The church seated 150.
- The last church service was held here in 1978.
- The Diocese of Lincoln declared this church redundant in March, 1981. The building was demolished and the site added to the churchyard in December, 1987.

- The Anglican parish register dates from 1726 through 1978.
- The Lincolnshire FHS has published several marriage indexes and a burial index for the Louthesk Deanery to make your search easier.

Little Carlton is both a village and a parish which sits on the Eue River. Legbourne parish lies 3 miles to the west, Manby parish to the north and the town of Louth 5.5 miles to the west. The parish covers about 950 acres.

- By automobile, take the B1200 arterial road between Louth and Saltfleetby and turn south through Manby to reach the village.

- This place was an ancient parish in Lincolnshire and became a modern Civil Parish when those were established.
- The parish was in the Marsh division of the ancient Louth Eske Wapentake in the East Lindsey district in the parts of Lindsey.
- In March, 1888, this parish was reduced in size to give the "Gillwoods" portion to North Reston Civil Parish.

- After the Poor Law Amendment Act reforms of 1834, the parish became part of the Louth Poorlaw Union.
- Bastardy cases would be heard in the Louth petty session hearings every other Wednesday.
