This parish is just 2 miles north of Louth parish and city and just south of Little Grimsby parish in the Lincolnshire Wolds. The parish only covers about 890 acres.

- Brackenborough is listed in the 1086 Domesday Book as having 15 households.
- Brackenborough Hall was built in the 17th century.
- Brackenborough Hall, also called Brackenboro House, can be toured. Pre-booking is required. Sunday only: 1.30pm and 3.30pm. - In 1911 and 1912, Lieut.-Col. Edward Kyme CORDEAUX of the Lincolnshire Regiment resided in this parish. He was baptised in Great Coates, LIN, in January, 1867.
