This tablet is erected by his loving people, who mourn his loss for "a little while," wait in hope and patience for The Masters call to join Him in heaven.

A faithful minister of Christ whose successful labors in Portscatha occasioned the erection of this chapel at his own cost in 1822 which by will he left in trust for the Redeemers cause in this place. In the various relations of life he was a pattern of excellence and living greatly beloved. He died deeply lamented 12th Novr 1839 aged 53. Under the pulpit .. to his desire his remains rest in hope.
