This indenture made the 25th March One thousand eight hundred and ninety seven Between Sir Robert GRESLEY  of Drakelow Hall in the county of Derby Baronet of the one part and Sydney EVERSHED of Burton-upon-Trent in the county of Stafford common Brewer Member of Parliament of the other part.  Whereas at the date of the indenture next hereinafter recited the said Sir Robert GRESLEY was seised of or otherwise well entitled to the messuage land and hereditaments hereinafter described and intended to be hereby conveyed for an estate of inheritance in fee simple in possession free from incumberances  And whereas by an indenture dated the first day of July One thousand eight hundred and eighty seven and made the said Sir Robert GRESLEY of the one part and Arthur Francis GRESLEY  and Henry Cunliffe SHAWe of the other part the said messuage land and hereditaments hereinafter described and intended to be hereby conveyed were conveyed unto the said Arthur Francis GRESLEY and Henry Cunliffe SHAWE To such uses as the said Sir Robert GRESLEY  should by any deed or deeds direct limit or appoint and in default of and until such direction limitations and appointment and so far as no such direction limitation or appointment should extend To the use of the said Sir Robert GRESLEY and his assigns for his life without impeachment of waste with remainders over as therein mentioned  And Whereas  the said Sir Robert GRESLEY has agreed with the said Sydney EVERSHED for the absolute sale to him of the said messuage land and hereditaments hereinafter described and intended to be conveyed at the price of Two Thousand Pounds  Now this indenture Witnessed that in pursuance of the said agreement and in consideration of the sum of Two Thousand Pounds on or before the execution of these presents paid by the said Sydney EVERSHED to the said Sir Robert GRESLEY (the receipt whereof the said Sir Robert GRESLEY hereby acknowledges)  He the said Sir Robert GRESLEY  as beneficial Owner  and in excercise of the power for this purpose given to him by the hereinfore recited indenture of the First day of July one thousand Eight HUndred and Eighty Seven and of every other power if any him thereunto enabling hereby appoints and conveys unto the said Sydney EVERSHED All that messuage dwelling house or tenement situate in Rosliston in the county of Derby  fronting the main road there used as a Public House and known by the name or sign of "The Plough Inn" with the outbuildings yard garden Paddock  and appurtenances thereto adjoining and belonging  All which premises are now in the occupation of W          HEBB and are more pareticularly delineated and described in the maps or plans drawn in the margin of these presents and are thereon coloured Pink and Blue  To hold the same unto  and to the use of the said Sydney EVERSHED in fee simple And the said Sir Robert GRESLEY hereby acknowledges the right of the said Sydney EVERSHED to production of the deeds and documents mentioned in the schedule hereto and to delivery of copies thereof and hereby undertakes for the safe custody thereof  In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

The schedule above referred to

25th February 1854 ---INDENTURE of settlement made between Sir Thomas GRESLEY  Baronet of the first part  Robert Griffith WILLIAMS and Laura Anne WILLIAMS of the second part and Charles GRESLEY and Edward GEALE of the third part

4th Ocotber 1867 ---INDENTURE (endorsed upon the last mentioned indenture of settlement) made between the said Charles GRESLEY of the first part the said Edward GEALE of the second part the said Sir Thomas GRELEY baronet of the third part Dame Laura Anne GRESLEY of the fourth part and Edward HIGGINS of the fifth part.

13th September 1868 ---INDENTURE  Made between Robert Shevrall TOMLINSON and the Reverend William Haughton FREER of the first part the said Sir Thomas Gresley Baronet of the second part and the said Edward HIGGINS and Edward GEALE of the third part.

30th June 1887 ---INDENTURE made between the said Sir Robert GRESLEY Baronet of the one part and William Edward SMITH of the other part

1st July 1887 ---The hereinbefore recited Indenture of settlement of this date.
