St. Ethelbert's church has a 14th C tower. The spire was destroyed by a gale in 1894 leaving the tower with rather a stumpy appearance. The nave and chancel are also 14th C. The walls of the interior are limewashed. The wagon roofs with ribs and bosses are original. The windows are mainly Perp. The font is 18th C, octagonal, with Gothic panels, on a 17th C base, and an earlier plinth. The churchyard has a good, but rather weathered, collection of Forest of Dean headstones.
The eastern fringes of the parish of Littledean command a grand view of the Severn valley. The horseshoe bend in the river can be seen in all its glory in the panoramic view eastwards towards the distant escarpment of the Cotswold hills.
