East Liverpool -- James L. Litton, 71, of East Liverpool, died at 6:25 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at City Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Ripley, W.Va., May 15, 1936, a son of the late Flavy F. Litton and Marie Casto Litton Mose of East Liverpool.

A graduate of the East Liverpool High School, class of 1955, he lived most of his life in the East Liverpool area. A member of the Central United Methodist Church in Wellsville, he was an avid bowler and a member of numerous leagues over the years. He was a member of East Liverpool Lodge 681 Free and Accepted Masons, and a 32nd degree member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Steubenville.

He was the former owner and operator of West End Auto Rental until his retirement earlier this year. Previously, he worked at the former Golden Star Dairy and the Homer Laughlin China Company.

In addition to his mother, he is survived at home by his wife, Esther Reed Litton, whom he married Aug. 31, 1957.

Surviving are four sons: Steven Litton of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., James L. Litton and his wife Debbie of East Liverpool, Todd Litton and his wife Tanis of Wichita, Kan., and Scott T. Litton of East Liverpool.

Also surviving is a stepbrother, Gary Mose of Ranson, W.Va.

There are five grandchildren, Steven Litton, Daniel Litton, Jennifer Litton, Angela Radeschi and Tate Williams.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Daniel G. Mose.

Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Robert S. Phillips of the church will conduct a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.

A Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday.

Burial is to be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Mr. Lytton died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at a local nursing home. He was born June 30, 1932, at Edna, W. Va., to Lawrence Morgan and Effie Eberly Lytton.

He came to the Ada area in 1980 from Morgantown, W. Va.. He graduated from National High School in National, W. Va.

Mr. Lytton was a retired painter. He was of the Baptist faith.

He married Carolyn Moore May 21, 1977, in Morgantown, W. Va.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Laurene Tucker and three brothers, Gerald Cutright, Ralph Cutright and Earl Lytton.

Elizabeth Ruth Litton Lowther, 83, of Vienna, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008, in Eagle Pointe, Parkersburg, after an extended illness.

She was born August 5, 1924, in Roane County, a daughter of the late Virgil Perry and Hattie Drake Litton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Roger Reed, Dean Reed and William Robert Lowther.

Mrs. Lowther was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She attended the Faith Baptist Church, Vienna.

After moving to Colorado Springs, La Verne worked at Hewlett Packard for 17 years until her retirement. Lebanon, Va. -- Mrs. Iona Litton Taylor, 85, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 29, 2008.

Born April 12, 1922, in Dickensonville in Russell County, she was the daughter of the late Millard F. Litton, Sr. and Mollie Holmes Litton. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and was well-known as one of the best cooks in Lebanon. She was a member of the Spring City Baptist Church, and a member of the Temple Hill High School Class of 1940.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Bob Litton, Joe Litton, Worley Litton, Millard Litton, Jr.; and sister, Vera Belcher. She was the last surviving member of her generation.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Hobert Taylor, Sr.; other survivors include four sons, Roger Taylor and wife Dinah, Donald (Donnie) Taylor, Hobert Taylor, Jr. and wife Johnnie, Randy Taylor; and one daughter, Sharon Collier and husband Charles. She is also survived by one grandson, four granddaughters, and two great-granddaughters.

The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in the Combs Funeral Service chapel with her pastor Scott Suttle, and Randy Williams and the Rev. Austin Fields officiating. Committal services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 in the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon.

Mr. Lytton was born on Sept. 7, 1919, to John and Inez Lytton in Puyallup, Wash. He served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II.

He married Mabel Lawhead in 1941 in Orchard, Wash., and the couple moved to Pendleton in 1954, where he was a service repairman for Sears Roebuck for years.

He enjoyed his family, working outside, woodworking, fishing and hunting. He belonged to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

He is survived by his wife Mabel; children Jack Lytton of Heppner, Linda Hall of Driggs, Idaho, and Gary Lytton and Jim Lytton, both of Pendleton; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A service has been held for Sequim resident Margaret Litton Wilmeth, who died Feb. 9, 2008 [Sequim WA], at the age of 88.

She was born April 17, 1919, in Abingdon, Va., to Sheriff John Murray and Hettie Duncan Litton. As a child, she and her family moved to Bluefield, W. Va., where she graduated from Beaver High School.

She met and married Thomas Sharpe Wilmeth, a young electrical engineer from Indianapolis, in 1939. They initially lived in Charleston, W. Va. Later, they moved to Milwaukee, Wis., where their two children were born. The couple divorced.

In Milwaukee, she was an active member of the Milwaukee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served as a chapter regent. She was state president of the Wisconsin Daughters of 1812 and a member of the Wauwatosa Women’s Club.

Mrs. Wilmeth traveled all over the world and she greatly enjoyed spending time with her children and family.

She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and enjoyed the “Out to Lunch Bunch” at the church.

She is survived by her former husband and friend, Thomas Wilmeth of Texas; son and daughter-in-law Steven and Mary Lou Wilmeth of Texas; daughter and former son-in-law Suzanne Wilmeth Anderson and Ronald Anderson of Washington; brother John Whitley Litton of Texas; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by sisters Naureen Woodyard, Opal Ratliff and June Jacobs.

Alice was born April 21, 1932 in Santa Maria to Tony S. Martin and Margaret I. Branquinho Martin who are originally from Eureka, California. Alice was a graduate of Santa Maria High School Class of 1950. She spent much of her life in the community devoting 15 years to Home Motors Chevrolet and the balance of her career at Pine Grove School, as a librarian for the Orcutt School District.

Alice is survived by her husband of 57 years, Babe Litten of Santa Maria, son and daughter-in-law Charlie and Kim Litten of Arroyo Grande, daughter and son-in-law Trish and John Macdonald of Santa Maria and her grandchildren Cheyann, Lacy, Travis and Christa, sister Mary Evans and her husband Victor.

Alice was know for her great sense of humor and quick wit. Her laugh among many other attributes will be remembered by her loved ones and those who knew her. She will remain in our memories and our hearts.

The graveside service will be held Monday February 25, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Maria Cemetery with Reverend Deborah Dunn of St. Peters Episcopal Church officiating.

Formerly of West Chester and then Doylestown, Annie Jo was born April 23, 1911 in Birmingham, Ala. She was the daughter of the late Judge Hughes and Annie B. Cornwell.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Marion R. Lytton and their daughter, Elizabeth M. Szabo (George).

Mrs. Lytton is survived by two of her children, Joanna L. Ritenbaugh (Thomas) of Richboro, and Randolph H. Lytton (Ellen) of Fairfax, Va. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Krissa J. Born in Sissonville, WV on July 4, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Nina Gibson Fisher and Emsy E. Fisher. She was a resident of Charleston, WV before moving to Scotia Village in 1996 with her husband, [Lewis] Harold Litton. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Patty Cleavenger.

Eloise was a charter member of the Village Chapel Presbyterian Church in Charleston, a member of the Woman’s Club of Charleston, a member of the Tiskelwah Chapter #45 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, and a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Charleston Shrine #7.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Litton and wife, Brenda of Pinehurst, NC and Mark Litton of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, Chad Litton and wife, Alicia, Curt Litton and Adam Litton; stepgrandsons, Charles Lewis and John Lewis and wife, Jami; six great grandchildren.

Ruth Ann Pruett, age 79, of 150 E 3rd Street, Apt 3, Woodhull, Illinois died at 1:55 P.M. on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. She was born on November 13, 1928 in Altona, Illinois, the daughter of Royal and Hazel Stone Miller. She married Elmer L. Pruett on June 4, 1947 in Knoxville, Illinois.

Surviving are four daughters, Judy (Robert) Harman of Woodhull, Illinois, Janice Litton of Woodhull, Illinois, June (David) Luciani of Springfield, Missouri and Jacqueline Pruett of Alpha, Illinois; four sons, James (Stephen) Pruett of Orlando, Florida, Jerry (Joan) Pruett of Woodhull, Illinois, J. (Walter) Pruett of Taos, New Mexico and Jeff Pruett of Dixon, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one brother, Glenn R. Miller of Kewanee, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, one brother and one son-in-law: Raymond Litton.

She was raised and educated in Altona, Illinois graduating from the Altona High School. She was a long time resident of Woodhull, Illinois and worked in several restaurants in the Galesburg and Woodhull, Illinois areas for several years. She enjoyed family and all of her many grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Rock Falls, Illinois with her sister and also the United Church of Woodhull.

To "live her dream" of being close to her beloved grandchildren and children, Ed and Marge moved to Washington Twp., Ohio four years ago. Marge was a 1955 graduate of Martins Ferry High School in Martins Ferry, Ohio; and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Upper St. Clair. She was an avid bridge player and eternal optimist. Marge never met a stranger and everyone who knew her, loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sol and Helen Litten.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ed Kren; her three daughters, Erin (Drew) Wesley of Evansville, Ind., Katie (Jeffrey) Gammell of Centerville, Ohio and Betsy (Brian) Stuart of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Matthew, Maggie and Mary Kate Wesley, Mark and John Gammell and Sean and Tess Stuart; and brother, H. Margaret Metz Litton, 86, of 13310 Club Road in Hagerstown, Md., went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 21, 2008, at NMS of Hagerstown, surrounded by her daughter Nancy and loving son-in-law Terry, Victoria and Todd.

Born Thursday, Feb. 16, 1922, in Washington County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Victor Metz and Mary Miller Metz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac B. Litton, in 1984.

She was the former co-owner of Litton's Amoco.

She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, Women's Club and Fountain Head Country Club; and a former member of the Zonta Club, Halfway Homemakers and Beta Sigma Phi.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy L. Gerberich and husband, Terry, of Maugansville, Md.; son, the Rev. Dr. Terry Litton and wife, Marilee, of New Concord, Ohio; five grandchildren, Michelle Betts and husband, Charles, of Massillon, Ohio, Beth Canfield and husband, Brian, of Canal Fulton, Ohio, Amy Burd and husband, Steve, of Cheshue, Conn., Victoria Hockaday and husband, Julius, of Hagerstown, and Todd Gerberich and wife, Crystal, of Hagerstown; six great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Nathan Betts, Emmia and Isaac Canfield, and Darius and Jocelyn Hockaday; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Mary Virginia Johnson Lytton, 88, formerly of Nitro, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in Ozark, Mo., where she had spent the last few years living with her daughter.

Mary was born March 16, 1920, in Jackson County, W.Va., but spent most of her adult life in the Kanawha and Putnam area. She was a full time mother and homemaker. Before moving to Missouri, Mary was for many years a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Nitro, an active member of the Methodist Women's Circle #5, a homeroom mother every year while her children were in school and a Brownie Scout leader. She was one of the founding members of the Nitro Women's Club and active member of the Putnam County Republican Club in the 1960s.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Carroll M. Lytton; her parents, Otis Johnson and Georgia Baker Johnson Hudson; her brothers, Clarence and Carl Johnson; her sisters, Gladys Caplinger, Eulah Baumel and Vera Kelbaugh; and her son-in-law, Louis S. DiCastri.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Nancy Carol and husband, Gus Coats, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Sandra Sue DiCastri of Sarasota, Fla., Mary Katherine and husband, James Roberts, of Ozark, Mo., Wilma Jean and husband, Donald Pitzer, of Nitro; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A service of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 20th Street, Nitro, with the Rev. Nancy White officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, South Charleston.

Clinton -- Mrs. Joan Lytton Ayers, of 113 Finch St. died at her home Saturday, April 5, 2008.

The funeral will be held Monday, April 7, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Cava officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery.

Mrs. Ayers was a native of Princeton, West Virginia [b. abt 1912]. She was the daughter of the late Winton and Mary Virginia Warren Lytton. She was a graduate of Concord State Teacher's College and taught school in Mercer County. She was a former member of the Sampson County Medical Alliance and was a very active member of First Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher and the widow of Dr. James S. Ayers.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Warren Rose of Clinton; a son Jim and wife, Jennifer Ayers of Winston Salem; three grandchildren, Joel Nicolas Rose, Patrick Salisbury Rose and Megan Elaine Ayers; two nieces, June Auvil Cowan of Georgia and Joyce Lytton Mash of West Virginia and one nephew, Marshall Lytton of Princeton, West Virginia.

Marcella Virgie Litton of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on April 21, 2008 at Potosi Manor Nursing Home, having reached the age of eighty-six years, nine months and three days. She was born on July 18, 1921 at Richwoods, Missouri, a daughter of the late Joseph Louis Nickelson and Blanche Cecila Kelso Nickelson.

She was united in marriage to Omar George Litton on April 19, 1939 at Shirley, Missouri and shared over sixty years of marriage with him. Mr. Litton preceded her in death on May 10, 2003. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Sue Akers and her sister, Betty Joe Gillam.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her sisters, Ann Hawkins and husband Dave of Cuba, Florence Durham of Florida and Flo Whitiker of St. Peters; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday April 25, 2008 at 11 AM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Mr. Carl Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were George DeDen, Tom Durham, Richard Whitaker, Alan Whitaker, Pam Cuttingham and Ron Woods.

Interment and final prayers were held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home, Potosi, MO.

Married at the early age of 17, her life started in Ellisford, WA with her sole mate, Steve, then continued until the birth of daughter, Stephanie, in Tonasket, WA. Shortly after, they moved to Chicago, IL where they continued their life for nine beautiful years, then moving to the Tri-Cities in 1989. Donna owned and operated a lawn care business for 12 years. She was the hardest working woman in the Tri-Cities.

Donna lived for her children, everyday, all day. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She was her children's best friend and made sure they all knew how proud of them she was. Donna made people laugh everywhere she went. She was the most giving person we had ever known. She lived everyday for her soul mate, Steve, children and grandchildren. She lived her life everyday to the fullest.

Donna is survived by her husband of 32 years, Steve Lytton [b. Mar 1957]; her children, Brad, Jesse, Amy Lytton and Stephanie Henn; the sparkle of her eyes, 6 1/2 grandchildren; all of her children's spouses; her parents, Earl and Janice Brown; her brother, Randy; sisters, Darla and Debbie; all her cherished nieces and nephews who meant so much; and many friends and people she befriended around the community and everywhere she went.

Mr. Litton was born [Aug 9 1977] in Conway, S.C., the son of David Litton and Cathy Weekly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, W.W. Litton and Herman Lewis.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his stepfather, Mike Weekly; one daughter, Cierra Jo Litton; one brother, Travis Litton; one sister, Tory Litton; two stepbrothers, Michael Weekly Jr. and Greg Weekly; two stepsisters, Jennifer Weekly and Jamie Redlinger; grandparents, Carolyn Litton and Audra Lewis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Bedford -- Mary Janette Lytton, 91, of Bedford, died at 6:10 p.m. Monday [Jun 2 2008] at StoneBridge Health Campus.

She was born Aug. 17, 1916, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Melinda (Martin) Henderson. She married Lewis G. "Jerry" Lytton on July 23, 1936, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 16 [sic: 18], 2003.

She was a retired ward clerk from Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford, and a homemaker.

She was a 1935 graduate of Bedford High School and a member of Hillcrest Christian Church and the Ludean Society.

Survivors include two sons: Lewis Bradley Lytton and wife Hope R. of Peachtree, Ga., and Jeffrey J. Lytton and wife Bernie of Bedford; three grandchildren: Jordan H. Lytton of Prescott, Ariz., Jeffrey S. Lytton and wife Lori of Bedford, and Jonathon J. Lytton and wife Cale of Avon; two great-grandchildren: Brandon S. and Ashley J. Lytton, both of Bedford; and one sister, Rowana M. Harp of Bedford.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Mitchell Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.

Delmer R. Litton age 91, of Ashland died Wednesday June 4, 2008 at Samaritan Regional Health System [Ashland OH]. He was born in Oneida, TN., on June 9, 1916, the son of Sherman and Lilly (Smith) Litton. Mr. Litton lived most all of his life in Ashland County. He retired from U- Brand after over 35 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and dancing. In 1944 He married Virginia Louise (Harper) Litton who preceded him in death in 1986. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law June and Lawrence Dingus of Ashland, 5 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, and 2 great- great- grandchildren. Also surviving are his two sisters Lula Baxter of TX., and Charlotte Litton of FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Ol Litton, and brother Dillard Litton.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday June 6, 2008 at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor David Kerner officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park. Doris May Litten, was born on May 30, 1920, in Sundance, Wyoming to Axel J. and Dorothy Bartholemew Simonsen. She died peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2008, after a long illness. She was married to William L. Litten for 47 years. Doris lived in Fresno for 57 years and retired from IRS.

She will be missed.

Her husband, parents and her brother, Kenneth Blair, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret Rhoten and her husband Lonnie; children, Nancy Gregory, Linda Marshall and her husband Eugene, William Litten Jr. and his wife Kati, and Kenneth Gregory and his wife June. Grand-children are Robert Marshall, Susan Marshall Aguilar and her husband Mark, Renee Woodworth and her husband John, Sherie Roberts and her husband Mark, William Litten and Catherine Litten, Scott Foth and his wife Debi, Glen Foth and his wife Karen, and Christy Kennedy and her husband Dennis. She had 16 great-grandchildren. The Family is grateful to Linda Dean for the loving care she gave Doris in her last years.

Edinburg -- Geneva Mason Hottinger, 98, died Saturday June 14, 2008, at Life Care Center in New Market.

Born on December 24, 1909, in Rockingham County, Mrs. Hottinger was the daughter of John C. Mason and Emma Smith Mason. She was a member of the Mount Olivet Church of the Brethren and worked at Vetter’s Orchard. She married Maynard Franklin Hottinger on January 22, 1931 [who preceded her in death June 26, 1987]..

Mrs. Hottinger is survived by her daughter, Joan Litten, of Edinburg. Four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild survive her, as well.

The family received friends Monday, June 16, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pastors Eric Wetzel and Debbie Harmon conducted the funeral at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Grandle Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hottinger was buried [Tuesday] at Cedar Run Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

Deborah Kay Pickett of Mineral Point, Missouri, departed this life on June 14, 2008 at Potosi, Missouri as the result of a vehicle accident, having reached the age of fifty-one years, one month and fifteen days. She was born on April 30, 1957 at Potosi, Missouri, a daughter of the late Albert Litton and Eunice Dunnigan Litton.

She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She attended the Esther Baptist Church and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her children, Tasha Pickett of Mineral Point, Trenton Pickett, Sr. of Cadet, Tory Pickett of Mineral Point; five sisters, Barbara Skaggs and husband, Dennis of Park Hills, Alberta Dickerson of Park Hills, Rose Mary Cain and husband, David of Salem, Bonnie Allison of Hillsboro, Dixie Whitehead of Blackwell; only aunt, Rose Ann Litton; two grandchildren, Laney Drennen and Trenton "TJ" Pickett, Jr.; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Jonathan Jones officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Trenton Pickett, Sr., Tory Pickett, Albert Courtois, Carl Courtois, David Litton and Donald Richards.

Sandy Hook -- Mrs. Iva Jean Jenkins Johnson Litton, age 67, of Route 1, Sandy Hook, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 25, at the residence of her daughter.

Mrs. Litton was born November 14, 1940, in Elliott County, a daughter of the late Ray and Myrtle Crum Jenkins.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Eugene Johnson of twenty-three years and Burl Litton of sixteen years; four brothers, Infant Bobby Ray Jenkins, Chester Conn, Everett Conn and Jake Jenkins; one granddaughter, Jessica Renea Eldridge; two great-granddaughters, Olivia Faith Eldridge and Kayleigh Jean Eldridge.

Jean was saved on December 8, 1966, and was baptized December 11, 1966, serving the Lord for more than forty-one years. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Community Church in Elliott County. Since May 5, 1979, Jean devoted her working career at the Saint Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, where she was employed for more than twenty-nine years as a Senior Nursing Assistant and Preceptor. Shortly after her retirement in July 2006, she and best friend Edith McVey chartered a Northwest Tour bus to explore the great west. Her most beloved hobbies included gardening, canning, cooking, the great outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Additional survivors include her only daughter, Patricia Johnson of Morehead; two grandsons and spouse, Jeff Eldridge of Morehead, Nathan and Danni Eldridge of Sandy Hook; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kelsey, and Gracie Eldridge all of Sandy Hook; one brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Tootsie Jenkins of Elliott County; one sister, Anna Mae Brown of Fairborn, Ohio; she also leaves several nieces, nephews, step children, and step grandchildren along with a host of extended family members, neighbors, and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 29, in the chapel of the Waddell and Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with brother Ricky Lewis and Brother Scott Litton officiating. Burial followed in the Jenkins Cemetery on Johnson Loop Road in Elliott County.

Mrs. Hudson was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold V. Stinnette; infant son, Thomas G. Stinnette; a grandson, Michael Lytton; a beloved son-in-law, Leon Lytton; two brothers, Clyde T. Johnson and Herman G. Johnson; and a sister, Odell J. Ware.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary S. Poston and her husband, Kenneth, of Manassas and Vernelle S. Elizabethton -- Ella Lytton, age 91, Hermitage Health Center went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 7, 2008, following an extended illness.

She was a Butler native and a daughter of the late Eugene and Amanda Gregg Ward. Mrs. Lytton was of the Baptist faith and was the owner/operator of Bargain Mart in Valley Forge. She enjoyed singing gospel music and loved to sew, cook and crochet.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lytton was preceded in death by her husband: Elmer Lytton, son: Bobby Ward, sister: Georgia Davis, and three brothers: Rayburn Ward, Floyd Ward and Robert Ward.

Survivors include her twin sister: Della Morgan, Akron OH; her son and daughter-in-law: Beryl and Lena "Tootsie" Ward, Elizabethton; grandchildren: Judy and Gary Hatley, Doug and Annette McCloud, all of Elizabethton, Bobby Ward, Jr., Kentucky, Bill and Sheila Ward, North Dakota, April Lynette and Tony Tunyavongs, California; six great-grandchildren: J.B. She was born May 4, 1925. She married Tom Litton on June 18, 1945. They were married for 63 years and had two children, Ross of Chicago and Kathie Martsolf of Fruita. She is further survived by five grandchildren.

Aileen was active all her life in musical positions and organizations.

Herschel "Ray" Litton, 78, of Clendenin, beloved husband, father, and paw- paw, went home to be with the Lord after his courageous battle with cancer, on Aug. 1, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty; parents, Herschel Sr., Icy Alice Litton; and six sisters.

He is survived by four children: son, Harold E. Litton and wife, Sue, of Hurricane; daughter, Alice F. Robinson and husband, James, of Clendenin; daughter, Deborah L. Madden and husband, Steven, of Alum Creek; son Timmy R. Litton and wife, Kathy, of Clendenin. He also is survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He devoted his life to loving and caring for his wife and family. In return, he was greatly loved and will be missed deeply.

His funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home, Charleston, with Pastor Tony Truman officiating. Entombment will be in Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Mrs. Litten was born in Lynchburg on Jul. 27, 1923, and was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Clay Davis, Jr. She was retired from Craddock-Terry Shoe Corp. after 25 years of employment.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by two sons, Andrew Clay Davis "Buster" and wife, Mary, of Lynchburg and Michael Wayne Davis of Calif., two daughters; Norma Jean Davis of Forest and Catherine Ann Davis of Atascadero, Calif.; one sister, Loraine Collins and husband, Bill, of Lynchburg; one brother, James Burton Tuggle and wife, Claudia, of Lynchburg; four step children, LeeRoy H. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Litton; his stepgrandfather, Lonnie Fry; his grandmother, Barbara Keaton; uncles Junior Litton and Charlie Litton; aunt Helen Litton; great-grandfather Gary Keaton; great-grandmother Delle Anderson; great-great-grandparents Hazel Boles and George Boles; and cousins Zachery Keaton and John Blair.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Briahna R. Litton and Latishia N. Graves; his grandfather, Eph E. Turvey of Pedro; grandmothers Billie J. Litton of Ironton and Shirley J. He then opened his own successful independent insurance agency. In his later years, Carl sold his agency and became a successful real estate broker, earning the prestigious award of Lifetime Member of the Memphis Board of Realtors Multi-Million Dollar Club. Carl and Becky were fortunate to travel; domestically, abroad and particularly enjoyed ocean cruising. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family. Dr. Jason Litton, 71 [b. Jan 18 1937], of Monaghan Township, passed away on September 5th [2008] at Holy Spirit Hospital under the care of Hospice of Central Pennsylvania.

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, he graduated from Great Neck (NY) High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity College and Doctor of Medicine from the Downstate Medical Center of New York. After completing postgraduate training at the University of Colorado and the Medical College of Wisconsin, and serving in the United States Air Force, he entered orthopedic practice in Harrisburg and Camp Hill from which he retired in January 2007.

Dr. Litton was a member of the Board of Governors of Holy Spirit Hospital as well as president of its medical staff. He also served as president of the Boards of the Harrisburg Symphony and Market Square Concerts, and was a founding member of the Board of Tres Bonne Annee, raising thousands of dollars for the Whitaker Center for the Performing Arts. He was the co-founder of the original West Shore Soccer League which has grown to enrich the lives of thousands of families in Central PA. He was also a regular contributor to The Patriot-News column on wine education.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Dr. Linda Taft Litton; their three children, Peter of Chicago, Dr. Ashley L. Faulx of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and Jennifer L. Ross of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and three grandchildren. Also surviving him are his mother, Gertrude Litton and his sister, Ms. Helen Greer, both of New York.

Cremation arrangements have been made through Auer Memorial Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Harrisburg.

A service in his honor is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 11 a.m., at Market Square Church, followed by a reception at the Hilton Hotel and Towers.

Dale Litton passed away on Monday, September 22, 2008, after a long illness. He was a resident at Stallings Court at the time of his death.

Dale was born July 15, 1922, in Electra, Texas, to John Henry and Susie Burke Litton. They both preceded him in death.

Dale married Lucy White, who was his first love and best friend. They were married for 62 years. She also preceded him in death.

Dale was in the United States Army, having attained the rank of corporal. He was in the motor division of the Pacific Theater. After leaving the U.S. military, he began a 33-year career with Exxon as a lease gas presser and gauger. Dale was a member of The First United Methodist Church and active in the Open Door Sunday School Class. He was a member of the senior Kiwanis civic club. Dale was a faithful supporter of S.F.A.

Dale is survived by a son, Craig Litton of Longview, Texas; grandson, Jason Litton of Longview, Texas; granddaughter Julie and husband, Darin Williamson of Kilgore, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Shawn Williamson of Kilgore.

Following retirement, he worked in private industry and civil service until 1993, at 72 years of age.

Graveside services for Mr. William Brodie Crouch, 90, of Searcy, Ark., were to be held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Old Town Cemetery, Haynesville, with Bro. Huey Mayfield officiating. Interment was to follow under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill.

Mr. Crouch was born Nov. 5, 1917, in Rock Springs, Texas, to Charles D. and Mary Lou McDowell Crouch and passed away Oct. 7, 2008, in Searcy [AR], where he had been a resident for the past six years.

He was a retired Church of Christ minister, being a former minister of North Arkansas Street Church of Christ for 20 years and preached the gospel for more than 60 years. He married Mary Ruth Litton on Oct. 20, 1948, in Washington, D.C.

He is survived by his daughters, Fran Scroggins and husband John of Conway, Ark., and Vickie Walton and husband Jim of Searcy; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Edward Crouch of Jasper, Tenn.

Mr. Crouch is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 55 years, Ruth Crouch, in 2004; son, Byron Glenn Crouch, in 2001; and grandson, James Ryan Walton, in 1981.

Donald Roy Litten, 75, passed away Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital, in Fort Wayne. Born [May 25 1933] in Fort Wayne, he was employed with Auburn Gear for 35 years, retiring in 1998 and was a machinist with Dana Corporation, Fort Wayne for six years. He graduated from Central High School and was a member of Moose Lodge, Auburn. Survivors include wife, Goldie B. Litten of Auburn; daughter, Shelly (Yort) Somkit of Corunna; son, Donald G. Litten of Auburn; grandchildren, Malachai Litten of Auburn, Amanda Folder of Corunna and Brittany Jason Myers of Waterloo; step grandsons, Zackery Somkit, Issac Corunna and Duane Hulbert of Waterloo; great-granddaughter, Jaden Myers of Waterloo; brother, Billy W. Dale Lloyd Lytton was born May 22, 1924, in St. Charles in Madison County, at his home on Elm Grove Ridge. His parents were Arthur James and Elsie Belle (Grimes) Lytton. He was the youngest of four children: Thelma (1911), Harold (1913) and Wayne (1918). Dale passed away Oct. 24, 2008, at the Clarke County Hospital [Osceola IA] at the age of 84 years.

Dale moved to Truro at age four and lived there for 79 years. He graduated from Truro High School in 1941. At age 17, he was an All-State semi-pro baseball player. He had an opportunity to try out with the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team in 1943 but was taken into Uncle Sam's team and joined the U.S. Navy at age 19. He served 32 months on the U.S.S. San Francisco, a heavy cruiser, in the South Pacific during WWII. He received the Purple Heart Medal for injuries suffered during an air attack by a Japanese aircraft in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He felt very proud to have served his country in wartime.

Dale played semi-pro American Legion baseball in Des Moines, Linden, Adel, Creston, Indianola and Truro. He also played night baseball with these same teams. He was an exceptional fielder and hitter. He was selected on the All-State Semi-Pro team in 1948. He played baseball several years at Bob Feller's homecoming games in Van Meter.

He drove his brother, Harold's, livestock truck for two years. In 1946, he entered the oil station business (DX) in a new building in Truro. He fixed truck, tractor and car tires and serviced vehicles in the area while operating this station for six years. He drove a Truro School bus five years and was a substitute rural mail carrier for six years.

He served on the Truro Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years as Assistant Fire Chief. He was elected to the Truro City Council (1947-57). While on the council with four other members and clerk, Truro got their first black-top streets, new street lights, two new fire stations, and a new modern fire truck. The first new city water system and fire hydrants were installed through the town. Dale installed the city water lines and service to 125 homes and businesses in Truro. He maintained them for over 25 years. He also maintained the pumps and lines for the town's two pumps and two city wells.

He sold the DX Oil Station in 1952 and entered the LP gas business. He sold over 1500 LP gas cylinders (100#) the first year.

In 1948-51, he owned a half interest in a corn shelling business with best friend Fred Reed Jr. shelling and delivering government corn from farms in the area. In 1952, he opened a hardware business until 1985 adding plumbing, heating, cooling service and sales. He operated a backhoe and trenching business from 1955-2003. He opened Truro's first self-service coin operated laundromat in 1963-2001 and their first self service coin-operated car wash in 1964-2003. In 1975, he installed sewer service to 115 homes and businesses when the city sewer system was begun. His two wives and all five children helped in the family business, becoming very good plumbers, fixers and "go-fors".

During his growing up years (5-16), he became an avid hunter and trapper around Truro, raising and hunting with hounds, catching squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, foxes, coyotes, deer and turkey. He continued this interest into his retirement years.

Dale owned one of the first shares in the Truro Community Developers, Inc. in 1957. He served on the board and was manager and maintenance man for the three senior citizen apartment buildings for 33 years. In 1984-87, he was the City Park Commissioner at which time he organized a horseshoe pitching league consisting of 16 men who pitched horseshoes two times a week during the summer for entertainment and fellowship. He was an Ohio Township Trustee for 13 years, caring for the three Truro cemeteries. He opened the graves for those three and Ebenezer Cemetery for 30 years. He served on the Truro Grocery, Inc. board and owned original shares from its start, helping to construct the store. He was a charter member of the Truro Lions Club in 1972 and a member until the 1990's.

Dale enjoyed bowling in several leagues at the Osceola Playland Lanes and the WinBowl at Winterset for 20 years (1960-1980's). In the 1980's, he enjoyed the hobby of beekeeping for a few years. He managed little league teams and attended games for all of his five children.

He was a member of the Truro Christian Church and the Peru United Methodist Church while living in Truro, serving on the boards and helping with various construction projects in both churches.

Dale married Gertrude Johnson in 1946-71. Four children blessed their home: Gary, Robert, Dennis and Crystal. He married Jeri Sutton in 1972, and they were the parents of a son, Russell. Dale was very proud of all of his children and their accomplishments. He enjoyed being a grandpa, watching grandchildren grow and learn, especially any athletic activities.

In 2003, Dale left his "roots" and moved to Osceola to enjoy his retirement years. At his home, he enjoyed watching the traffic on Highway 34 and the train traffic on the railroad just north of the highway and afternoon coffee time with the fellows in Osceola. He joined the American Legion Davis-Pence Post #69 and enjoyed the monthly meetings with fellow veterans.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Gertrude; his parents, Arthur & Elsie; his brothers, Harold and Wayne; sister, Thelma Porter; step-granddaughter, Amy Peckler Hohenshell; nephews, Dennis and Kenneth Porter.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jeri Lytton of Osceola; sons, Gary (Janet) Lytton of Shelton, Neb., Robert (Shari) Lytton of Ankeny, Dennis (Brenda) Lytton of Winterset, Russell (Lisa) Lytton of Davenport; daughter, Crystal (Vince) Proudfoot of St. Charles; grandchildren, Tessa and Jordan Lytton and Cheyenne and Caitlin Proudfoot; step-grandchildren, Gordon Collicott and Melissa Turner, Heidi Stolp and Mindy LeFurge, Terra Parkes and Jace Dahlgren; step-great-grandchildren, David, Angela and Issa Collicott, Charlotte and Lillian Turner, Dylan and Hannah Stolp, Ilyssa and Nicholas McIntosh, Kaley, Logen, Lucas and River Hohenshell; nephew, Jan Lytton; nieces, Karen Lytton and Janet Smedstad and his dog Daisy.

Through the years Dale had many good times and special memories of his Truro Businessmen associates, "Spike" Baughman and the Barbershop gang, hunting buddies, former customers and employees, friends, and neighbors.

Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 27 at the Peru United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kevin Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Madison County.

James Edward (Jimmy) Lytton Sr., 59, of 164 Archway Lane, Radford, died early Saturday morning, November 8, 2008, at his home. He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on January 4, 1949, and was the son of the late James Lytton. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Lytton. He attended the Belview United Methodist Church, Radford. William "Bill" Edward Litton of West Liberty, KY, passed away Monday, November 10, 2008, at the Wolfe County Health Care Center, Campton, KY, at the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 7 days. He was born on Saturday, September 3, 1927 in Louisville, KY, a son of the late Rufus Litton and Minnie Reynolds Litton McIntire.

Bill was united in marriage to Vanessa Minnix. This union was blessed with two daughters, Denise and Randa. He was a retired salesman for B.F. Goodwrench. He served his country during WW II and the Korean War in the United States Army and United States Air Force. He was a Christian and a member of the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Harrison McIntire; and one brother, Rufus Litton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vanessa Litton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Sidney Moore of Morehead, KY and Randa and Marvin Patrick of West Liberty, KY; four grandchildren, Jamie Phipps and Lydia Holbrook, Gina Phipps Vance and husband Brian, Bentley Patrick, and Brooke Patrick; one brother, Clarence Litton of Simpsonville, KY; two sisters, Christine Tapp and husband George of Shelbyville, KY and Katherine Gaines of Eastwood, KY; one sister-in-law, Nadine Minnix of White Oak, KY; and three nieces and three nephews.

Floy Nevlee Litton, age 96, of Belle, passed away Thursday morning, November 13 2008, at the Frene Valley Health Care Center in Owensville. Floy was born July 30, 1912, at Cooper Hill. She is the daughter of the late Millard and Etta Jett Hassler. Floy was united in marriage to Paul Litton March 19, 1932, and from that union seven children were born. Floy was a prominent member of the College Hill Baptist Church for over 80 years. Floy's loving and caring spirit touched many lives during her lifetime. She embodied the very ideal of Christian love and compassion. Her helping nature led her to work with the Green Thumb Project for seniors (in her own retirement) for 10 years. On April 20, 2002, at the young age of 90, she finally retired from the City of Belle after 12 years of service. She had also worked for many years at the International Shoe Company in Belle. An inspiration to everyone, judging no one, and loving her family and friends dearly, she will be missed by all. Surviving Floy are four children, Evelyn and husband Harold Smith, Franklin (Clifford) and wife Leona Litton, Venita and husband Winfred Elrod, and Arnold Lee and wife Donna Litton. There are 24 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren; and an amazing 15 great-great-grand children. Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Bacon of Taos and Lucy Ford of Linn. Preceding Floy in death are her husband, Paul; beloved son, Elmer; beloved daughter, Rita; an infant daughter, Marie; three brothers, Buel (Bill), Carl (Short), and Francis (Pat); and three sisters, Zoa, Coy, and Mina. Services for Floy will be held Monday, Nov. 17, at 11:00 a.m. from the College Hill Baptist Church north of Belle. Interment will be in the College Hill Cemetery. Visitation for Floy will be held Sunday evening beginning at 4:00 p.m. from the Sassmann Chapel in Belle.

He retired from Goodyear in 1996 after 26 years of service. George loved animals, race cars, scuba diving, photography, music, computers, spending time with his family, and also friends on Kelley's Island.

She had worked as a seamstress supervisor for Jacobs Brothers in Hancock.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gardner Isaac "Junior" Cain Jr.; one daughter, Edna E. Widmeyer of Berkeley Springs; one son, Roger A. Cain of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Dorothy Stuckey of Martinsburg, W.Va.; five grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by seven sisters, Betty Silver, Sarah Clark, Mary Apple, Violet Householder, Mattie Bohrer, Nancy Weicht and Jean Hoover; and three brothers, Harry Starliper, Marshall Starliper and Billy Seckman.

Mildred Kathryn Tomlinson Litton [d. Dec 25 2008 Chillicothe MO] was born on February 22, 1910 in Daviess County to Leonidas (Lon) Tomlinson and Cora Ethel Youtsey Tomlinson; the fourth of six children. Mildred attended school at Carlow and then Lock Springs, where she graduated with the class of 1928. During her high school years she met a young Davies County man named Charley Oscar Litton. They were married in Hiawatha, Kansas on March 30, 1929.

They began their married life in Kansas City, where Charley worked as a bookkeeper and stenographer for an automobile agency. With their roots in farming, they were glad to return to the Lock Springs area when Charley was given the chance to farm part of the acreage on his family’s former home. An accident with a gravel truck put an end to Charley’s farming and left him an invalid. They moved to a small house on the farm owned by Mildred’s father, and for the next several years Mildred supported them by milking eleven cows and selling eggs from her chickens. During the winter months she trapped and sold furs.

Charley eventually recovered and they resumed farming. In 1937 their son, Jerry Lon Litton, was born in that small farmhouse. The following year they were able to again take possession of the Litton farm and took over the 500 acres and a large house that was badly in need of repair. Over the next four years they worked hard to farm the land and renovate the old farmhouse, only to watch it burn to the ground in 1942. Mildred worked hard during those farm years -- milking cows, driving a tractor and lending a hand wherever needed. Her greatest joy during that time lay in the raising of their remarkable son. They instilled in him their own beliefs in hard work, honesty and caring for others.

Jerry joined early in the farming operation, and when he graduated from College in 1961 he and his young bride, Sharon Summerville Litton returned to join as partners with Charley and Mildred in a new venture. The Litton Charolais Ranch was established in Chillicothe and Mildred's new life began. The first years were filled with hard work as they struggled to make a name for themselves and for their cattle. Mildred’s roles included cooking meals for prospective buyers, helping in the ranch office, caring for the two grandchildren who made a welcome appearance in the family, and traveling with Charley on the show circuit, where the big white cattle made a national and international reputation for the Litton name.

The grandchildren, Linda Lorraine and Scott Stuart became Mildred’s new joy in life. She enjoyed many hours with them and joined them in fishing, playing games, and riding their mini Honda motorcycles over the ranch acreage.

In 1972 Jerry decided to enter the political arena and announced his candidacy for U.S. Congressman from Missouri’s Sixth District. Once again Mildred’s life underwent a change. She was introduced to the art of campaigning, entertaining politicians and attending fundraisers and coffees for the candidates. She and her good friend, Maxine Lamb, stuffed thousands of envelopes, delivered campaign material, posted information in card files, and copied hundreds of names and addresses. Ed Turner, Jerry’s campaign manager, jokingly called them his “Girlie One and Girlie Two”’ and said they could always be counted on to come through when there was work that needed to be done. Their efforts, along with the help of many others, culminated in Jerry being elected in 1972 and re-elected in 1974.

In 1976 Mildred and Charley lost their son and his entire family in a tragic plane crash. Jerry had just won the primary race as democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate. Mildred’s life was shattered, and Charley became her lifeline, as he struggled to care for them both. Charley established the Jerry Litton Family Memorial Foundation and began a program of extending help to the community and particularly to the Chillicothe R-II School District. He also became interested in having a biography written about their son, and he was able to persuade Mildred to help. She drew on her inner strength and began the process of returning to a normal life. She told many stories of Jerry’s life and history, taped many memories, and helped Charley proof read the chapters as they were written by a long time friend and ranch employee, Bonnie Mitchell.

In 1980 Charley lost his battle with cancer, Mildred was left alone. Once again she faced a devastating loss, but she immediately assumed the reins of the Litton Foundation and completed the effort begun by Charley to build a lasting memorial for Jerry, which culminated in the Jerry Litton Visitors Center at Smithville Lake. She then enrolled the Litton Foundation in a project to build the Litton Agri Science Learning Center for the FFA program in Chillicothe. That was followed by continued building at the learning center, assisting with the Jenkins Expo Building project and improvements for the Livingston County Fair facilities. Mildred’s heart had always been with the FFA program, from Jerry’s first years as a member and officer, Charley’s award of honorary American Farmer Degree, and her own certificate of appreciation, to the present day projects at the Learning Center.

She was a generous donor to many other projects, including the Green Hills Golf Course, Livingston County 4-H Foundation, Chillicothe YMCA, the Alpha Gamma Rho house at Missouri University in Columbia and scholarships to Chillicothe High School and the University of Missouri. In 2007 she was one of the first recipients of the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mildred was a member of the Gallatin Presbyterian Church where she was a faithful attendee until confined to her home by ill health. Her faith was a great strength and support throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brothers Keith Tomlinson and Kenneth Tomlinson, Sisters Margaret Tomlinson, Winnie Hampton and Doris Webster, Husband Charley, Son Jerry, Daughter in law Sharon and grandchildren Linda and Scott. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and families, including Chillicothe residents Debbie and Lyle Jenkins and Pat and Jim Gates and Family. She is also survived by many Litton relatives who have always claimed her as their own “Aunt Mildred”. Nearby relatives include Victor and Mildred Litton and Jane and Fred Sweany, all of Lock Springs.

Funeral services will be held at United Methodist Church Chillicothe, Missouri at 10:30 am on Tuesday December 30, 2008. There will be a family visitation on Monday December 29th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call on Monday December 29, 2008 at the funeral home from 12 noon until 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jerry Litton Family Memorial Foundation those may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley funeral Home P.O. Joyce Tackett Lytton, 74, of Kanawha City, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2008, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston [WV].

She was born [Apr 1934] in Sophie, Kentucky, and was a daughter of the late Walter G.. and Grace Tackett.

She lived her life in the Kanawha Valley.

She was a 1953 graduate of East Bank High School and was also active in Democratic politics in Kanawha County throughout her life.

She leaves behind her son, J.B. Willis and his wife, Rebecca, of Kanawha City; grandsons, James and Robert Willis; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Grace Willis; sisters, Jewell Holbrook and Glenna Cloonan; and two brothers, Dick and Larry Tackett.

A memorial celebration of Joyce's life will be 3 p.m. Sunday, December 28, at Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Tackett Cemetery, Grahn, Ky.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Joseph Watson Fox (Coach Fox), 72 [b. Jan 1936] of Eleanor [WV] went to be with his Lord and Saviour when he died unexpectedly at home on December 30, 2008.

Joe was the son of the late Lydia Belle Chandler Fox Cash.

He was a devoted husband to his wife of 52 years, Helen Delores Shank Fox, and supportive and loving father to his two daughters, Debra Kay and husband, Bruce Shutts, of Red House and Terry Lynn Angle and husband, Larry, of Eleanor.

He was the proud grandfather of three, Joseph E. Herdman and Kelly Jo of Eleanor, Miranda K. of Red House and Andrew Angle of Eleanor. He was a doting great-grandfather to Emmy Jo Herdman of Eleanor.

He also held a special place in his heart for his “special children”, Kenny Allison, Jackie Nunley, Jody Kaiser, Denise Goddard and Lisa Warner.

Joe retired from Union Carbide and was employed at Rippling Water Church of God Campgrounds in Romance. He was a supporter of WVU, George Washington Middle School and Buffalo High School sports programs and our local youth.

He coached basketball, softball, baseball and volleyball and assisted with football and track. He coached in North Putnam Little, Big and Senior Leagues and Pee Wee League baseball as well as other independent leagues. He coached at GW Elementary and Middle School, and Buffalo High. He coached a total of 48 years and loved every minute of it and every child involved in it.

He was a former volunteer firefighter and town councilman in Eleanor.

Joe is survived by sisters, Margaret Nunley of Charleston, Mary Lytton of Eleanor, and Laura Dent of South Charleston, and brother, John Fox of Seattle, Wash.

He was preceded in death by one brother, William Fox, and sister, Ruth Johns.

A tribute to the life of Joe Fox will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2008, at Winfield Baptist Church with Pastor David Johns, his nephew, officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
