G. L. Litton Killed By Quarry Engine; Home At New Paris

G. L. Litton, 40 years old, employee of the France quarries here, was instantly killed about 8 o'clock Saturday morning when he fell under the wheels of the narrow gauge engine which he was running. Exact cause of Litton's falling beneath the wheels of the engine has not been determined.

The body was found by Earl Sweet, foreman, about 10 minutes after the accident. It is said that Litton was backing the engine into the quarry after having been to the mill with a load. The body was badly mangled.

Litton moved with his family to New Paris about two years ago, coming from Kentucky. During his residence here he was employed by the Pennsylvania railroad at the east yards at Richmond, and at the gravel pit near here. He had been working for the quarry only about two months. Mrs. Litton, who has been visiting relatives in Kentucky, was notified Saturday of the death of her husband. Besides the widow, three children, three grandchildren and the parents survive. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
