SAMUEL STORRS.

SAMUEL STORRS, the emigrant, was son of Samuel Storrs, and came from Sutton, Nottingham County, England; he was twice married, 1, at Barnstable, Mass., December 6, 1666, to Mary Huckins, daughter of Thomas Huckins; she was born March 29, 1646, and died September 24, 1683; 2, to Esther Egard, December 14, 1685. Mr. Samuel Storrs died at Mansfield, Conn., April 30, 1719. His widow, Mrs. Esther Storrs, died April 13, 1730, in the 89th year of her age.

10. SAMUEL STORRS, of Mansfield, was married to Mary Warner, daughter of Andrew Warner, May 5, 1726.

11. JOHN STORRS, of Mansfield, was married to Esther Gurley, daughter of Samuel Gurley, of Mansfield, January 2, 1735. She died March 15, 1746, in her 33d year. After her death he again married. John Storrs died October 6, 1753, aged 51.

16. JOSEPH STORRS, of Mansfield, was twice married. 1. To Hannah Porter, May, 1735. She died August 28, 1741. 2. To Experience Gurley, daughter of Samuel Gurley, of Coventry, Conn., 1743. Mrs. Experience Storrs died June 9, 1767, in her 43d year. Joseph Storrs died October 5, 1783, in his 72d year. They had nine children, among whom were

SECOND GENERATION.
VII. THOMAS STORRS, of Mansfield, was married to Mehitabel (?), March 14, 1708. Thomas Storrs, Esq., died April, 1755, in the 69th year of his age. Mehitabel Storrs died March 10, 1776.

(*)Rev. John Storrs, was ordained August 15, 1763, sixth pastor of the Presbyterian church at Southold, L. I. He left the Island near the commencement of the Revolutionary War, and was absent from his charge from August, 1776, to June, 1782. He was dismissed April 13, 1787. [Rev. Mr. Prime's History of Long island.] "After his dismission, Rev. Mr. Storrs came back to Mansfield, and preached for a time to a congregation in North Windham, as a supply." [Rev. A. S. Atwood, of South Mansfield.] Rev. John Storrs was twice married. 1. To Eunice Howe, widow of Dr. Howe, of Mansfield and daughter of Col. Shubael Conant, of Mansfield, by whom he had a son Richard Salter Storrs, who was settled in the ministry at Long Meadow, Mass. His son, bearing the same name, is Pastor of the church in Braintree, Mass., and his son bearing the same name, is settled over a church in Brooklyn, N. Y. [Zalmon Storrs, Esq., of Mansfield.]

56.CORNELIUS STORRS (son of Capt. Thomas) married Martha Porter, daughter of Deacon Experience Porter, of Mansfield, September 4, 1738.

57. THOMAS STORRS, of Mansfield, was married to Eunice Paddock, daughter of Mr. Robert Paddock, of Mansfield, Eebruary 27, 1742-3. She died May 2, 1795. He died May 14, 1802.

Eleazur Williams, minister of South Mansfield, January 5, 1774. She died April 18, 1792. 2. To Mary Southworth, daughter of Constant Southworth, Esq., October 28, 1793.

105. LEMUEL STORRS, of Colchester, was married to Betsey, daughter of Col. Henry Champion, October 5, 1783. She was born September 11, 1762. Lemuel Storrs, Esq., died November 29, 1816. Mrs. Betsey Storrs, alias Champion, died June 21, 1845.
