Some of the books are page images only, while some are in text format. In most cases the the books are not only viewable, but printable and downloadable in their entirety. City of Middletown History Essay. The City of Middletown has on its informative web site a three-part essay on the history of Middletown. The essay is based on Elizabeth Warner's A Pictorial History of Middletown (1990) and Willard M. Wallace's Middletown 1650-1950.

Town of Portland History Articles. The Town of Portland, Conn. web site has a collection of local history articles from past issues of the municipal newsletter, Portland ... On the Move. The articles are listed according to publication date (1999-2002). The original column, by local historian Doris Sherrow, was called "Portland History, Carved in Stone." At the Town of Portland web site, click on "history."

Connecticut History Online. This site is a collaboration of the Connecticut Historical Society, the Connecticut State Library, the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center at the University of Connecticut, Mystic Seaport, and the New Haven Colony Historical Society. The site contains about 14,000 images of photographs, drawings, and prints, which are searchable and browsable.
