The Saybrook Colony Founders Association (SCFA) was formed in 1985 on the 350th anniversary of the founding of Saybrook Colony to study, record and preserve the genealogy and history of the Colony's original founding families. Toward this end, SCFA collects and maintains records on approximately three hundred families, some containing descendant and/or pedigree charts, and has amassed a library of over 1000 volumes of published genealogies, periodicals, local history and related subjects. "Hear-Saye", the SCFA quarterly newsletter, covers not only SCFA business, but also publishes scholarly genealogical and historical essays researched and written by members, reprints from other publications, genealogical queries, an occasional discussion regarding unresolved ancestry and more.

SCFA also organizes Heritage Tours to Europe, visiting sites of particular relevance to the founders of Saybrook Colony, primarily, but not exclusively, in England and the British Isles.
