Donations to Fore-Kin Trails Genealogical Society
There are several ways you can make a donation to the Fore-Kin Trails Genealogical Society. Gifts of any size are appreciated, and we will keep your personal and financial information completely confidential. All donations are greatly appreciated.
As a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, Fore-Kin Trails Genealogical Society and the Montrose Genealogy Center rely heavily on private contributions and the generosity of numerous individuals. We receive neither city nor county funds. All gifts are fully tax-deductible.
You may choose to honor someone or a pet or remember an anniversary or celebration.
You have the option to donate monthly.
At your request, Genealogy Center staff will provide you with a letter of receipt that you may fill out for tax purposes.

Gifts of Memorial Books
Cash contributions can be made for the purchase of materials in memory or to honor someone special. A bookplate(s) acknowledging the honoree will be placed in the item(s). To make a donation, fill in the Donation Form and return it as indicated.
The staff is not qualified to determine the value of your donation. It will be up to you to assign a value for tax purposes.
Gifts of New or Gently used Genealogical Materials
When you contribute genealogical materials to the Montrose Genealogy Center, your name, or the name of the person you choose to honor, will be printed on a bookplate and placed in the book.
We sell the donated items which we cannot use at library book sales, on the Internet or donate them to other nonprofit agencies. The money raised by sales goes to fund programming and to purchase other genealogical materials.

As a member, you will enjoy benefits such as a yearly subscription to the Uncompahgre Valley Chronicle and free queries in the quarterly.
Become a Volunteer Now
If you would like to join our volunteers, we have some rewarding opportunities that might suit you! We're looking for people willing to donate just a few hours of their time on an ongoing basis.
Volunteer opportunities at the Genealogy Center may include the following: shelving, shelf reader (making certain our collection is in the correct order), computer assistant (helping others sign onto the Library catalog or the Internet), processing materials or creating displays and bulletin boards.
