2. James Robert GLOVER Rlwy. Engineer was born on 2 Aug 1865 in New Holland, Barrow, Lincolnshire, England.⁽³⁾ He died on 10 Sep 1906 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.⁽⁴⁾⁽⁵⁾ Died as a result of a train accident at Dunmore AB when a mistake was
made in signals sent out and two trains collided. The newspaper
account said he pushed the conductor out of the train and thus saved
his life. Dad always said the man who made the mistake got on a
bicycle and headed for the U.S., never to be seen again. Grandpa
survived a few days and an experimental operation was tried to
restore his broken backbone, but failed. CPR provided the family with
passes for many years so that Grandma was able to take her four sons
to Winnipeg, Toronto and Nelson, among other places.

You
have to read the certificate carefully as the places don't line up
with the titles on the form spaces.

3. Mary POLLOCK was born on 5 Jul 1857 in Lachute, Quebec.⁽⁸⁾ History of the Pollock Family says she was born Chatham township
Argenteuil Quebec. She died on 19 Oct 1918 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.⁽⁹⁾⁽¹⁰⁾ Died in the great 'flu epidemic of 1918. Jess went with her parents,
Barrie and Hazel Glover, when a youngster and saw the grave. The stone
had a totally wrong date on it. We have a picture of the stone - it
says 1928. Barrie, a son, knew when she had died. She was buried about 23 Oct 1918 in Hillside Cemetry, Medicine Hat, Alberta.⁽¹¹⁾ Picure of headstone. Jess knows the place. Funeral date unknown. Children were:
