The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 440: [This entry was placed in the register considerably after the fact and with six other entries of the same family.] "1826 August 6th Thomas Cheyne (986), Seaman in Peterhead had a daughter baptized, named Elisabeth (996), before Alexander Simpson & John Jack.”.1

Elizabeth Cheyne, Margaret Cheyne, John Cheyne, Robert Smith Cheyne and Christian Cheyne were listed as in the household of Elizabeth McWilliam on the 1841 Scotland Census, at Union Street, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was her daughter, listed as age 14, and born in Aberdeenshire.2

Elizabeth Cheyne married James Wilson 20 February 1847, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, in Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Marriages, Parish of Peterhead, 1820-1854, Page 172/425, "February 20th (1847) James Wilson (3377), Seaman and Elisabeth Cheyne (996), both in this parish.”.3

The baptismal record of Ann Wilson documented Elizabeth Cheyne as her mother, 21 September 1848, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 297, "September 21st (1848) James Wilson (3377), Seaman, in Peterhead and Betty Cheyne (996) his wife had a daughter born 10th baptized and named Ann (3378), before Alexander Wilson and Thomas Cheyne (986)".4

The baptismal record of Alexander Wilson documented Elizabeth Cheyne as his mother, 13 September 1850, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 337, "September 13th (1850) James Wilson (3377), Seaman, in Peterhead and Elizabeth Cheyne (996) his wife had a son born 1st baptized and named Alexander (3379) before Alexander Wilson and Thomas Cheyne (986)".5

Elizabeth Wilson was listed on the 1851 Scotland Census, at Union Street, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was head of household and a seaman's wife. Also present were her children, Ann Wilson and Alexander Wilson. Her husband was not present, probably at sea. She was listed as 24 and born in Peterhead Parish.6

The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 383, "October 20th (1852) James Wilson (3377), Seaman, in Peterhead and Elizabeth Cheyne (996) his wife, had a son born 4th, baptized and named James (3380), before Alexander Wilson and James Cheyne (995)".7

The baptismal record of Robert Wilson documented Elizabeth Cheyne as his mother, 27 September 1854, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1833-1854, Page 421, "September 27th (1854) James Wilson (3377), Seaman, in Peterhead and Elizabeth Cheyne (996) his wife, had a son born 16th baptized and named Robert (3381) before James Cheyne (995) and Alexander Wilson".8

Elizabeth Wilson was listed on the 1861 Scotland Census, at 24/2 James Street, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was head of household and a seaman's wife. Also present were her children, Ann Wilson, James Wilson and Robert Wilson. She was listed as 35 years of age and born in Peterhead Parish.9

Elizabeth Wilson was listed on the 1871 Scotland Census at Upper Middlefield, in Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was a servant in the household of Louisa B. Grant. She was 44 years old, born in Peterhead Parish and employed as a housekeeper.10
