The entry in the Saint Nicholas, Register of Baptisms, 1771-1798, frame 243, reads: "Second (November 1792), Thomas Deans, Woll Comber & Mary Cheyne, his wife, had a Daughter born, named Mary, Baptized by the Rev'd Mr. John Bryce, in the presence of Will'm Chalmer, Hosier and Alex'r Barron, wool comber, both here."2,3
