Mary Cheyne
F, #9515, b. circa 1690
Father | Unlinked Cheynes in Aberdeen, 1696-1749 |
Mary Cheyne married William Wishart 3 April 1716, in Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She had either a father or brother names Alex'r Chein, who witnessed the baptism of her son Alexander. That Alexander is her third son, therefore, it is more likely that the Alexander Chein was her brother. If so, he probably was Alexander Cheyne (7341).1
The baptismal record of Alexander Wishart documented Mary Cheyne as his mother, 9 October 1720, at Scotstoun, in Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Old Machar, 1699-1724, Page 448/Frame 264: "October Nynth 1720 W'm Wisehart (9516), ffarmer In Scotstoun & Mary Cheine (9515), his Spoufe, had a Son baptized by Mr. W'm Smith, Min'r & named Alexander (9519), Alex'r Moir, Alex'r Wisehart, Alex'r Chein (7341) & W'm Kerby Witnefses".2
