FatherWilliam Cheyne b. c 1650

Margaret Cheyne was baptized in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, 13 February 1687, at Blackhillock, in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 16 "Margaret Cheyn lawfull daughter to W'm Cheyn in Bowihillock was baptized upon the 13th day of February 1687 before these witneffes Alex'r Hepburn (4619) Schoolmafter at Fyvie John Kennard (1527) in ardlogie & Alex'r Cheyn (756) in Woodhead".1

Margaret Cheyne married James Burr 18 June 1724, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, at Fyvie Parish Church, in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Marriages, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1763, Page 290 "June 18th 1724 James Burr and Marg't Chein were orderly married in the Church of fyvie before Several witneffes."
No children of the married could be identified. There were nine Margaret Cheynes born in Aberdeenshire of the proper age to be the bride. The two most probable candidates born in Fyvie, were numbers 774 and 784. A second marriage in Fyvie Parish the same year also involves a Margaret Cheyne. Most likely the two marriages involved the two Margarets born in Fyvie. But which Margaret for each marriage? I have them assigned by coin flip. Other possible known Margaret Cheynes are numbers: 777, 1757, 5435, 7717, 8858, 9458 and 9537.2
