The following is a transcription from the Register of Births, Parish of Gamrie, Volume 3, Village of Macduff, 1820-1854: "Cheyne, Joan Nicholson Wilson, lawful daughter of Alexander Cheyne, Tailor, by his wife Jane Forbes was born 8th August 1852".1,2,3,4

She was a scholar.3
