      William Cheyne in Fordyce (7452) was most likely William Cheyne (7440). His mother was a Ritchie and his son's christening will be witnessed by a Ritchie. If not, he probably was William Cheyne (7445).

William Cheyne married Agnes Largue 22 November 1807, in Fordyce Parish, Banff, Scotland. Their entry in the Fordyce Register of Marriages reads "Novem'r 22d (1807). William Cheyne & Agnes Largue both in this Parish contracted and were married".1,2

William Cheyne, in Portsoy, witnessed the christening of his son, William Cheyne, on 6 June 1808, at Fordyce Parish, Banff, Scotland. From the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fordyce, Banffshire 1775-1819. Frame 133 “June the 6th (1808) William Cheyne in Portsnoy had a Child by his Wife Agnes Largue baptized & named William Witnefses William Ritchie & William Smith”.3

William Cheyne died before 6 June 1841. He probably died before the 1841 census, where his wife was listed with her maiden surname.4,5
