Isabella Cheyne was baptized in accordance with the procedures of the Scottish Episcopal, 6 July 1823, at Saint Johns Episcopal, in Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland. The baptismal entry reads as follows: "Cheyne. Isabella, daug. of the Revd. Patrick Cheyne, minister of St. John's Chapel, and Eliza his wife, bap. 06 Jul 1823 , by the Revd. William Browning, Assistant at St. Andrew's Chapel Aberdeen."2,3

Christina Cheyne, Helen Cheyne, Isabella Cheyne and Elizabeth Cheyne were listed as in the household of Patrick Cheyne on the 1841 Scotland Census, at Bon Accord Street, in Aberdeen, Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was his daughter, listed as age 15, and born in Aberdeenshire.4

Isabella Cheyne died 26 November 1859 at 7 AM, cancerous affection of the stomach and bowels, under treatment for two years, at 44 Bon Accord Street in Aberdeen, Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The death was certified by Geo. Ogilvie, MD, who last saw the deceased November25th. The death record listed her as single and 36 years of age. The death was recorded by her father, P. Cheyne (1592). Her parents were confirmed to have been as herein recorded.6,7
