The following is a story sent to me by a Web Page reader. Alexander and Margaret Fraser adopted a girl (Annie Neil) who had two brothers. Later they advertised for the two brothers who were found and proved to be one in the army and one in the Navy. Mum knew the Navy man who took them to the theatre in Edinburgh at least once. She did not know the army one, but he was in India and brought home many lovely things for his sister including a length of white silk which she made (or had made) into a dress. Could not get the white stockings but eventually got some from the undertakers!!
