Lizzie Cheyne, John Cheyne, Alexander Cheyne, Chrissy Cheyne, Lewis Cheyne, Isabella Cheyne, William Cheyne and Mary Jane Cheyne were listed as children in the household of John Cheyne and his wife, Lizzie Cheyne on the 1891 Scotland Census, at Mains of Greens, in Monquhitter Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was 7 years of age, born in Longside Parish and a scholar.3

John Cheyne, Alexander Cheyne, Christina Cheyne, Lewis Cheyne, Isabella Cheyne, William Cheyne and Mary Jane Cheyne were listed as children in the household of John Cheyne and his wife, Elizabeth Cheyne on the 1901 Scotland Census, at Mains of Greens, in Monquhitter Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was listed as 18 years of age, born in Longside Parish, Aberdeen and a farmer's son.4,5

Alexander Cheyne married Sarah Porter 17 July 1909, at Rothie Hall, Rothienorman, in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was aged 25, a carter and resided at 298 Hardgate, Aberdeen. Alexander's father had set him up in business, with a horse and cart.7

Alexander served in the Royal Flying Corps, stationed at Longside during World War I.8

Alexander and Sarah farmed at her parent's farm at Upper Lenshie, until they retired and moved to Ythan Cottage, Bedford Place, Aberdeen, with their eldest son, "Bert". They remained there until they died.8

Alexander Cheyne died 27 October 1972 in Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland.9
