Catherine Welsh married William Cheyne 11 August 1857, in Falmouth, Cornwall, England.3,4

Catherine Cheyne was listed on the 1861 England Census at Crown Hill, Norwood, in London, Lambeth, Saint Mary Parish, Surrey, England. She was in the household of John Penpler, guardian. She was listed as a visitor, employed as a house maid, 20, married and born in Wiltshire.5

Catherine Cheyne and her husband, William Cheyne, were listed on the 1871 Scotland Census, at 1 Windmill Street, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. They were listed as the head of household and wife. Also present listed as their child was, Charlotte Cheyne.6

Charlotte (701) and her mother, Catherine (584) probably immigrated together in 1880 to the USA. Both were listed on the 1910 US Census as having immigrated that year.7

She was 56 years of age, married, a housewife an English citizen and returning to her husband, W. Cheyne, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She had previously been in the United States 1891 in Cambridge. Her last Residence was Plymouth.12

Also present were her children, Comrie Cheyne, Andrew Cheyne and William Alexander Cheyne. She was listed as Katherine Cheney, a widow, born September 1841, in England. She had ten children with six alive. She rented her house.13

Catherine Welsh died 1 April 1923.1
