There was a sasine in Aberdeenshire dated 15 February 1658 that included John Cheyne (4106), in Blackchambers. No other Cheynes were mentioned.1

There was a sasine in Aberdeenshire dated 29 March 1659 that included John Cheyne (4106), in Blackchambers, Robert Cheyne (2779), Writer, in Edinburgh, and Thomas Cheyne (3875), in East Cullairlie.2

James Cheyne (18688) in Dyce may have been the son of John Cheyne (4106) in Blackchalmers. James had a daughter who married a farmer in Black Chalmers.
