Robert Mundie and his wife Isabella Mundie were listed on the 1901 Scotland Census, at 20 Hilltown, in Dundee, Saint Clement Parish, Forfar, Angus, Scotland. He was head of household and a cooper. Also present were his children, James C. Mundie, Robert S. Mundie and Isabella K. Mundie. He was listed as 41 years of age and born in Fraserburgh Parish.⁷

Robert Selkirk Mundie and Isabella Mundie were found on a passenger list, dated 17 October 1905, at Quebec, Quebec, Canada. Also present was their daughter Isabella K. Mundie. They were on a manifest of alien passengers bound for the United States aboard the Sicilian out of Glasgow, ten days earlier. They were British Subjects of Scotch race last residing in Fraserburgh, joining a friend, Alex Milne, 317 River Street, South Lansing, Michigan. It was the first visit to the United States for all and they were ticketed to their final destination on the Canadian Pacific Railway.
