She was indexed as Allen Caddenhead, 9 years old and born in Aberdeenshire.3

Helen Cadenhead was listed as a lodger in the household of Christian Marr on the 1851 Scotland Census in Auchmill, Newhills Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was 19, born in Aberdeen and employed as a paperworker.4

Helen Cadenhead married Henry Cheyne 29 November 1856, in accordance with the procedures of the Free Church of Scotland, at Stoneywood, in Newhills Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Helen was listed on the marriage record as a 23 year old spinster and papermill worker and residing at Stoneywood, Newhills Parish. Her parents were confirmed to have been as recorded herein.5

Helen Cheyne MS CADENHEAD, recorded the birth of her daughter, Helen Cheyne, on 22 September 1860, in Middlefield, Aberdeen, Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland; at 10:00 PM.6

Helen Cheyne and her husband, Henry Cheyne, were listed on the 1861 Scotland Census, at Little Clinterty, in Newhills Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. They were listed as the head of household and wife. Also present listed as their children were, Agnes Cheyne and Helen Cheyne. In addition, her half-sister, Mary Ann Courage, and half brother-in-law, William Courage, listed as a visitor and their children, Barbara Anderson Courage and Mary Ann Elizabeth Courage, were also present.. She was listed as 28 years of age and born in Old Machar Parish.1

Helen Cheyne died 14 June 1868 at 10:30 PM, of carcinoma coli for nine months, at Brown Street, Woodgate in Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The death record listed her as Helen Cheyne married to Henry Cheyne, labourer. Her age was 35 years. Her husband recorded the death. Her parents were confirmed to have been as herein recorded, although her father was listed as Isaac, not Duncan, Cadenhead.7

Helen Cadenhead was buried, in Newhills Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland..8

Helen Cadenhead was memorialized, at Grove Cemetery, in Bucksburn, Aberdeen, Scotland. Her monumental inscription reads: "Erected by Henry Cheyne in memory of his mother Helen Cadenhead who died 13th Oct. 18860, aged 35 years, '(interred at Newhills)'. His father Henry Cheyne who died 4th Oct. 1910, aged 80 years. Also his step-mother Jessie Forbes who died 10th Aug. 1904, aged 72 years"..8

Her date of death is uncertain, caused by conflicting sources. Her Civil Death records has a date of 14 June 1868; while her memorial stone at Grove Cemetery reads 13 October 1869. Both cited above.9
