     Isabella Cheyne was born, 5 May 1857, at 4 AM, in Sclattie, Newhills Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. Her father was not identified on her birth record. Her maternal grandmother, Isabella Cheyne nee Gibson (3319), recorded her birth, 25 May 1857, at Newhills.1

Isabella Cheyne and Alexander Scott were listed as grandchildren in the household of Alexander Cheyne on the 1861 Scotland Census at Mains of Sclattie, in Newhills Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was 3 years of age and born in Newhills Parish. Her unmarried mother, Margaret Cheyne (3326), and brother, Alexander Scott (3329), were also present.2
