William Cheyne was found on a passenger list, dated 23 September 1932, at Quebec, Quebec, Canada. He was a Third Cabin passenger aboard the Duchess of Bedford, out of Greenock on the 17th of September. He was 59, single, a farmer, born in New Deer and destined for Carberry, Manitoba to join his brother-in-law, Mr. George Willox. He had not previously been in Canada. His brother, Mr. John Cheyne, Wardhead, Lonmay was named his nearest relative in Scotland. He was marked as a "Landed Immigrant".6

William Cheyne was found on a passenger list, dated 6 August 1934, at Greenock, Renfrew, Scotland. He was a third class passenger aboard the Montcalm, out of Montreal. He was traveling to Wardhead, Lonmay. He was 61, a farmer and intended to remain in Scotland permanently.7
