Jean Dun was baptized in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, 18 June 1706, at Whitebogs, in New Deer Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of New Deer, 1684-1726, Page 142, "June 16 1706 The said day William Dun(3175) in Whyt bog had a daughter brought forth by his wife (3173) and baptized June 18 named Jean (3199), Godfathers Alex'r Cheyn (756) in the parish of Montquhiter and John Mathers (4608) in Culfh, Godmothers Joan Urquhart (760) in the parish of Montquhiter and Elspet Gib (4609) in Culfh”.1
