     Harriette Maria Morphy was born, about 1834, in Kevey, Killarney Parish, County Kerry, Ireland. She was the niece of the Archdeacon Bland and cousin of Christopher Bland of Derriquin.1,2

Harriette Maria Morphy married Charles Cheyne 6 January 1859, in Aghadoe Parish, County Kerry, Ireland. She was recorded as Hariet Maria Morphy and resided in Aghadoe Parish. The ceremony was officiated by Richard Morphy, priest, probably her brother, and witnessed by Letitia Herbert and R. Morphy, possilby her father.2,1,3

Harriette Maria Cheyne was granted the probate of the estate of the deceased, Charles Cheyne, 3 November 1886. The will of Charles Cheyne was proved 3 November 1886. An abstract of which reads: "Cheyne Charles. Personal Estate £50. 3 November. The Will of Charles Cheyne late of the Town of Bedford in the County of Bedford Civil Engineer who died 3 August 1886 at Bedford was proved at Northampton by Harriette Maria Cheyne of Bedford Widow the Relict the sole Executrix.".4

Harriette Maria Cheyne was listed on the 1891 England Census, at 11 Union Street, in Bedford, Bedford, England. She was head of household. Also present was her child, Henry Baliol Cheyne. She was listed as "living on her own means" and a widow. In addition,two servants were also present.1

Harriette Maria Morphy died 9 February 1892.5

Her estate was probated on 12 October 1892 at London, England.6
