Annetta J. Gordon, Donald C. Gordon, Selina F Gordon, Lewis Gordon and Frances Ellen Georina Gordon were listed as children in the household of Donald Macleod Gordon and his wife, Frances A. Gordon on the 1861 England Census, at Harpsden Court, in Harpsden, Oxfordshire, England. She was listed as 12 years of age, born in Edinburgh and a scholar.3

Frances Ellen Georina Gordon married Arthur Cheyne 28 June 1883, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of England, in London, Bayswater, Saint Peter Parish, England. They were married in the parish church after banns. She was a spinster and resided in All Saints Parish, Kensington.4,2,5

Frances E. G. Cheyne and her husband, Arthur Cheyne, were listed on the 1891 England Census, at 14 Sinclair Gardens, in Hammersmith, London, England. They were listed as the head of household and wife.1

Arthur and Frances were mentioned in Zetland Family Histories. Their entry reads "Arthur (Cheyne), merchant, London, born 1st January, 1844, died 20th April, 1900, married 28th June, 1883, Frances, third daughter of Donald Macleod Gordon, merchant, Calcutta. She was born 27th March, 1849, but had no issue".2

Frances Ellen Georina Cheyne was granted the probate of the estate of the deceased, Arthur Cheyne, 13 June 1900. The will of Arthur Cheyne was proved 13 June 1900. An abstract of it reads: "Cheyne Arthur of 14 Sinclair Gardens Kensington Middlesex secretary of Indo China steamship company died 20 April 1900 Administration London 13 June to Frances Ellen Georgina Cheyne widow. Effects £6457 1s. 11d.".6

Frances E. G. Cheyne was listed on the 1901 England Census, at 14 Sinclair Gardens, in Hammersmith, London, England. She was head of household. She was listed as a widow living on her own means. Also present in the household were two domestic servants.7

Frances Ellen Georina Gordon was found on a Register of Electors in Hammersmith Borough, London residing in a dwelling house at 14 Sinclair Gardens for 1902.8

Frances Ellen Georina Cheyne died 26 February 1912.9

Her estate was probated on 18 April 1912 at London, England.10
