Patrick Cheyne was born, about 1660. Patrick Cheyne (2106) was probably the son of John Cheyne of Ardmurdo (2068). He was variously referred to as; sometimes of Ardmurdo; and, as Peter of Ardmurdo. His baptism was probably the one recorded herein as Patrick (9367).
Patrick Cheynes (2106) and (9367) probably were the same person.
Patrick Cheyne married Agnes Duguid.1

The entry in the Register of Baptisms reads: "Peter Chein of Ardmurdo and Agnes Chein his spouse had an Daughter named Arabella, baptized be Dr G William Blair, Minifter, James Seton Sometimes of (Monie?) and James Seton, his Son and William Lumsden, burgefs and Maltman, Godfathers".2,3

The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1668-1738, Page 138, "April 28 (1692) Patrick Chein of ardmuirdoch (9485) a fone bap't James (9486). William & James _______ (Setnoreb?) of (Meine?) Witnefses.”.4
Patrick Cheyne, in Peterhead, witnessed the christening of his son, John Cheyne, on 19 January 1694, at Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1668-1738, Page 143, "Jannare 19 (1694) Peter Cheyn (9485) in Peterhead a fon bap't John (9487). James Seton of Menie & Peter Shirer (bailleo?) witnefses.”.5
Peter Chein of Ardmurdo (2106) was mentioned twice in the List of Pollable Persons in Aberdeenshire 1696. His first entry, at Newseat, Peterhead Parish reads as follows: "Georg Forbes of Newseatt his valued rent is £80 0s 0p. His oune poll is given up in the toun of Peterhead, in Peter Chein of Ardmurdo, his masters family".
The second, in Peterhead, reads: "Patrick Chein, sometimes of Ardmurdo, his free stock upwards of 5000 merks, his poll is ... £4 6s 0p.
"His lady, Agnes Duguid ... 6s 0p.
"Francis, Peter, William, James, John and Arrabella Cheins, their poll ... £1 16s 0p". And two servants.6
