Alexander Cheyne

      Alexander had been convicted in the Aberdeen Court of Justiciary on 9 September 1829 and placed aboard the Mermaid 2 December 1829 for transportation to the colony of New South Wales for a term of seven years. His crime was not indicated.1

He was on a list of Convects Arrived in New South Wales in the year of 1830, aboard the Mermaid. He was 18 years old, a Protestant and was to be employed by S. Walker in Wallerawang, New South Wales for seven years.2

He was on a list of Convict Pardons and Tickets to Leave in New South Wales. There was no date on the record. He had arrived in the year of 1830 aboard the Mermaid and had been convicted in the Aberdeen Court of Justiciary on 9 September 1829 for a seven year term.3
