Ltd., 172 Market Street, both of Aberdeen"., at 7 Golden Square, in Aberdeen, Saint Machar Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was listed as a confectioner, a spinster, 24 years of age and residing at 25 Wallfield Crescent, Aberdeen.1,2

Elizabeth Anderson Cheyne was named the wife of James Gordon Cheyne on a passenger list dated 6 August 1918. She was listed as Mrs. Gordon Cheyne, 4 Richmond Terrace, Aberdeen.3,4

Elizabeth Anderson Cheyne and James Gordon Cheyne were found on a passenger list, dated 30 June 1924, at Quebec, Quebec, Canada. Also present were their children James Gordon Cheyne and Roderick Gordon Cheyne. They were cabin class passengers aboard the Montcalm out of Liverpool on the 23rd of June. None had previously been in Canada. They were bound for the Empress Hotel in Vancouver via the Canadian Pacific Railway. They were passengers aboard the Athenian, out of Glasgow on the 18th of April. Elizabeth was 40 and born in Arbroth; Duncan, 15, Aberdeen; James, 12, Aberdeen; Donald, 7, Fleetwood; Roderick, 6, Fleetwood; and, Lennox, 3, Aberdeen. They were destined to join her husband, James Cheyne, 1041 Fullerton Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. Her sister, Mrs. Bella Glassie, 449 Holburn Street, Aberdeen was her nearest relative in Scotland. Their last residence was in Aberdeen and all had previously been in the United States from 1923-1925.1

Elizabeth Cheyne was found on a border crossing list entering the United States, 28 April 1930, at Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA. Also present were her children James Gordon Cheyne and Roderick Gordon Cheyne. They had arrived in Quebec the preceding day aboard the Athenia out of Glasgow and were enroute to join their husband and father at 1041 Fullerton Street, Chicago. Elizabeth was 41 and a housewife, Duncan Gordon, 15, scholar, James Gordon, 12, scholar, Donald, 7, scholar, Roderick, 6, scholar and Lennox, 4. Their address in Scotland was 40 View Terrace, Aberdeen and they were to remain in Scotland permanently.6
