Hardie, Elizabeth Hardie, Charles Hardie, Ann Hardie, Margaret Hardie, May Hardie and William Hardie were listed as children in the household of William Hardie and his wife, Mary Hardie on the 1861 Scotland Census, at Auchencrieve, in Methlick Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was 26 years old, a scholar and born in Ellon Parish.2

The attached is an image of James Hardie. He was a maker of violins and violoncellos in Edinburgh. He wrote 'Fisher's Cant', which was rearranged and renamed 'Drumnagary' by James Scott Skinner.3

James S. Hardie died 1916.4
