     Evelyn Cheyne was born, about 1907, in Old Deer Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1

Evelyn Cheyne was found on a passenger list, dated 4 June 1928, at Quebec, Quebec, Canada. She was on a Manifest of Passengers aboard the Andania out of Greenock. She was 21, single, born in Old Deer, Scotland of Scotch race and destined for the land settlement branch, in Toronto. She had not previously been in Canada. Her passage was self paid, had been employed as a domestic and her status was "Landed Immigrant". Her nearest relative was her father, Mr. James Cheyne, Laverock Cairns, Skelmuir, Mintlaw.1

Evelyn Cheyne was found on a passenger list, dated 9 June 1929, at Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. She appears to have been deported from Canada. Her name appears on a list entitled "Deports". She was aboard the Lelita out of Montreal. She was 23, a domestic servant and was returning to Laverock Cairns, Skelmuir. The details were very cryptic, having to do with vagrancy, the Andania, 4/6/1928 and the Cassandra, 28/9/1924.2
