George Cheyne

     George Cheyne died 28 March 1918 during World War I. He was a Private in the Gordon Highlanders, 8th and 10th Battalion, Service No: S/12784. No other details were provided.1

George Cheyne was buried in grave XVII. A.A. 19, at the Terlincthun British Cemetery, near Boulogne, France.1

He probably was the George Cheyne mentioned in a book entitled The War Book of Turriff and Twelve Miles Round - A Memorial 1914-1919. His enter reads:
"GEORGE CHEYNE (Turriff)
Farm Servant.
Private in 42nd (Training Reserve) Battalion, Gordon Highlanders.
Served - France, Germany".2
