Charles Dunbar was baptized in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, 31 July 1853, at Kininmonth, in Lonmay Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Lonmay, 1820-1854, Page 89, "24th June 1853 Charles (1843), son of Robert Dunbar (1045) and his wife, Kininmonth was born 24th June, and baptized by Mr. Cordiner, 31st July Witnesses; Cumine Dunbar (1050) & Thomas Youl (1060), Kininmonth.”.1

Margaret Dunbar, John Dunbar, Charles Dunbar, James Dunbar and George Dunbar were listed as children in the household of Robert Dunbar and his wife, Margaret Dunbar on the 1861 Scotland Census, at Crimondgorth, in Crimond Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was listed as 8 years old, born in Lonmay Parish and a scholar.2

Charles Dunbar was listed on the 1871 British Census at Mains of Kindrought, in Strichen Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was a farm servant on the farm of Alexander Park. He was 18 years of age and born in Lonmay.4

Charles Dunbar married Jane Dinnie 6 December 1878, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, at Hill of Balvach, in Monymusk Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was 23, a bachelor, farm servant and resided at Balhelnie, Old Meldrum. His brother, John, was a witness. His parents were confirmed to be as recorded herein.5

Charles Dunbar and his wife Jane Dunbar were listed on the 1881 British Census, at Logieriever, in Udny Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was head of household and a farm overseer. Also present was his child, Jessie Ann Milne Dunbar. He was listed as 26 years of age and born in Lonmay Parish.3

Charles Dunbar and his wife Jane Dunbar were listed on the 1891 British Census, at 29 Jute Street, in Aberdeen, Saint Nicholas Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. He was head of household and a police constable. Also present were his children, Jessie Ann Milne Dunbar, Mary Isabella Dunbar and William Francis Dunbar. He was listed as 37 years of age and born in Lonmay Parish.6

Charles Dunbar died 14 April 1922.8
