Thomas Cheyne

Thomas Cheyne was found on a list of military personnel dated 27 August 1914 in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. He enlisted into the Royal Scots Fusiliers 3 December 1915, in Glasgow. He was 29 years and 268 days of age, born and residing in Paisley and a general labourer. He was married and had no prior military experience. He was discharged 41 days later, 7 October 1914. His discharge papers provided his wife name and place and date of marriage. It also provided the names and dates and places of birth of his children.¹

Thomas Cheyne, residing at 73 Merchiston Street, Glasgow, was named the father and closest relative of Thomas Cheyne on a passenger list on 28 October 1929.²
