     Alfred McCheyne was born, about 1890, in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland.1

Alfred McCheyne was found on several passenger lists between 9 June 1941 and 31 May 1947 at New York, New York, USA. He was a donkeyman on the Caduceus, out of London, landing in New York, 9 June 1941. He had been at sea 16 years, was 51 years of age and a British Subject of Scotch race.

He joined the Sarpedon on 13 December 1943, in New York.

He was a greaser aboard the Aquatania, out of Glasgow on 12 November 1943. That record provided quite a few additional details. He was 53, a British Subject of Scotch race, married to Mrs. W. McCheyne, 295 Lythan Road, Brixton, London. He was born in Glasgow and had previously been in the United States in 1942, last departing in December 1942.

On 23 February 1944, he was a greaser aboard the Samburgh, out of Port Said, Egypt, had been at sea 14 years.

His last entry was aboard the Voco, out of London, 31 May 1947, a greaser, 57, had been at sea 20 years.2
