He was 6 years of age, born in New Monkland, Lanark and a scholar.¹

He was 16 years of age, born in New Monkland, Lanark and a coal miner.²

Walter Cheyne was found on a passenger list, dated 18 June 1910, at Quebec, Quebec, Canada. He was a steerage passenger aboard the Hesperian, out of Glasgow on the 11th of June. He was listed on a page for "Passengers for USA". He was 25, single, born in Scotland and destined for Vincennes, Indiana. His brother, John, was in nearby Bicknell, Indiana. His United States crossing papers added that he was married, a miner, was born in Glentauser, Scotland and last resided with his wife Nora W. Cheyne in Standburn, Stirlingshire. He had never before been in the United States.⁴

Walter Cheyne was found on a passenger list, dated 5 February 1911, at Liverpool, Lancashire, England. He was a third class passenger aboard the Laurentic, out of New York. He was only listed as a labourer of Scotch descent.⁵
