His United States crossing papers added that he was married, a miner, was born in Glentauser, Scotland and last resided with his wife Nora W. Cheyne in Standburn, Stirlingshire. He had never before been in the United States.4

Walter Cheyne was found on a passenger list, dated 5 February 1911, at Liverpool, Lancashire, England. He was a third class passenger aboard the Laurentic, out of New York. He was only listed as a labourer of Scotch descent.5
