The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 4 "Barbara Cheyn law'll Daughter to Alexander Cheyn at Woodhead of Fetterletter was baptized upon ___rd day of May 1685 before these witneffes John ____n in midfummercairn & William Cheyn(1515) in Bowihilloch"..3

William Cheyne and Patrick Mitchell were witnesses at the Christening of Elspet Mitchell, 8 April 1686, in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 9 "Elspet Mitchell Lawfull daughter to Wm. Mitchell at mill of ____ was baptized upon the 8th day of April 1686 before these witnefses Patrick Mitchell (1532) at the mill of ____ & Wm. Cheyn (1515) in Bowihillock.".4

The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 16 "Marg't Cheyn lawfull daughter to Andrew Cheyn in abermuirfumland was baptized upon the fifth day of (December 1686) before these witneffes William Cheyn (1515) in Bodiechell & Andrew Caffie in _________ .".5

The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 16 "Margaret Cheyn lawfull daughter to W'm Cheyn in Bowihillock was baptized upon the 13th day of February 1687 before these witneffes Alex'r Hepburn (4619) Schoolmafter at Fyvie John Kennard (1527) in ardlogie & Alex'r Cheyn (756) in Woodhead".5

The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 20 “William Hunter Lawfull fon to William Hunter in abermuirfumerland was baptized upon the 26 day of april 1687 before these witnefses William Cheyn (1515) in bowihillock abermuirfumdland & andrew fimfon over abermuirfumdland.”.6

William Cheyne and Alexander Hepburn were witnesses at the Christening of Alexander Webster, 6 May 1687, at Blackhillock, in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 18 "Alex'6r Webster Lawfull fon to William Webster in Bowihillock was baptized upon the 6 day of May 1687 before these witnefses William Cheyn (1515) in Blackhillock & Mr. Alex'r Hepburn (4619) there.".7

William Cheyne and Thomas Milne were witnesses at the Christening of Isobel Youngson, 11 March 1688, at Bowerhillock, in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 25 “Iffobel Youngfon Lawfull daughter to John Youngfon in Bowihillock was baptized upon the 11th day of March 1688 before these witnefses Thomas mill (4419) in Bowihillock & William Cheyn (1515) there.”.9

William Cheyne and Adam Hay were witnesses at the marriage of Adam Clark and Margaret Cheyne, 1 August 1693, in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland; Church of Scotland.10

William Cheyne and his wife, Helen Black, and their son, James were found at Badichell, Fyvie Parish in the List of Pollable Persons in Aberdeenshire 1696. He was a yeoman tennant of the Laird of Meldrum. There was much witnessing of baptisms and marriages between him and his immediate neighbours. His entry reads as follows: "William Cheyn, in Badiechell, yeaman, tennent [no trade], his proportion of the valued rent is 2s 4d, which, with the generall poll ... 8s 0d.

"James Cheyne, his son, under sixteen years of age, in familia, [not pollable] ... 0s 0d.

William Cheyne and James Petrie were witnesses at the Christening of Christian Greiber, 19 January 1696, at Bodiechell, in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 81 “Jan’y 19 (1696) Alex’r Greiber in Bodiechell had a daughter baptized called (Lresten?) (entered Christian) witnefses Wm Cheyn (1515) & James petrie (4632) both yr.”.12

William Cheyne and James Kennert were witnesses at the Christening of Margaret Cheyne, 19 August 1712, at Fetterletter, in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Fyvie, 1685-1764, Page 164 “Auguft 19 (1712) Peter Cheine in fetterletter had a child baptized called Margaret William Chein (1515) and James Kennart (4395) witneffes.”.13
