The grouping of this family is based on reading the 1696 Poll of Aberdeenshire and the Old Parish Registers of Fyvie, Methlick, Monquhitter and Auchredy. There seemed to be at least three different Cheyne family groups in the four parish area. There was very no crossover witnessing between them. The "children" that follow appear to have been siblings or closely related.
