      An Alexander Cheyne, Notary Public was mentioned four times in Powis Papers. That Alexander was probably (13954). He notarized various legal documents and was named either "indweller in the City" or "in Old Aberdeen".1

There was a sasine in Aberdeenshire dated 8 November 1621 that included Alexander Cheyne (2439), Burgess in Aberdeen, his brother John Cheyne (13955) and his father, Gilbert Cheyne (13953). No other Cheynes were included.2
