Helen Cheyne was in the household of James H. Cheyne and his wife, Helen G. Cheyne, and listed as sister-in-law on the 1920 United States Census, at 159 Locust Street, in Winthrop, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA. She and her parents were said to have been born in England.¹

Helen Cheyne was found on a passenger list, dated 28 February 1927, at New York, New York, USA. They were on a Manifest of US Citizen Passengers aboard the Carmania, out of Liverpool, 19 February. Helen was 38, and a citizen by marriage, 10 December 1919. Mary F., was 6, born 20 October 920, Rumford, Maine; and, John G., was 3, born 8 November 1923, Sommerville, Massachusetts. The couple rented their home. All had been in the same place in 1935.. She was listed as 52 years of age and born in England and a naturalized citizen.²
