William de Caisneto married Albreda de Poyinges.1
William adopted his maternal surname, de Caisneto. He was also found styled as de Casnei, de Chesney and de Norwich. He held many properties, including: Blyburgh, Suffolk; Ling, Norfolk; and, Little, Cridoll, Essex. He was Sheriff of Norfolk, 1146-1149 and again from 1157-1163. He was also Sheriff of Suffolk, in 1157. He was heavily in debt and died in 20 Henry 2nd (1174) and that King passed his lands to his son-in-law, Hugh de Cressei, who married William's eldest of three daughter, Margaret.1
